Providing good quality food at our Ullswater centre is important to us. It powers our participants to enjoy their adventures and enables them to tackle their daily challenges.

The Cook will support our catering department enabling the preparation and service of good quality food for up to 130 young people.

Could this be a role for you?

The successful candidate will work 28 hours a week, 4 out of 7 days. The hours of work will be between 6.30am and 8pm. At present the role requires occasional weekend work.

You'll be based around a small friendly team within an open kitchen and dining room environment enabling engagement with Outward Bound's participants.

We are especially interested in finding someone who’s familiar with working in a busy kitchen, preparing and cooking food. We don’t expect you to be an expert in everything as training will be provided.

To get the most out of the role you’ll need to be very good at doing lots of different things. The work is varied and will change. You’ll be well organised and be good at planning ahead. You will have drive, flexibility and initiative.
