A TASTE OF THE WILD
FREE TASTER COURSE
Join us this October for The Power of Potential: A Journey with Outward Bound at our Ullswater centre.
Experience a unique 24-hour taster event designed exclusively for senior school leaders and early careers development professionals.
This immersive experience offers a powerful opportunity to step into the world of Outward Bound – where challenge, reflection and the great outdoors combine to unlock confidence, resilience, and leadership in young people.
Through hands-on activities and thought-provoking workshops, you’ll gain first-hand insight into how Outward Bound supports both schools and businesses in developing thriving, capable individuals. The event also opens the door to building meaningful partnerships between the education sector and early careers employers, helping create stronger, more connected pathways for the next generation.

CAN YOU MAKE IT?
What: A 24/26 hour experience of Outward Bound. All food, accommodation, instruction, learning and fun are all included!
When: 17-18 October 2025
Where: Ullswater, Lake District

As part of the event, you’ll be able to take part in a series of engaging workshops designed to spark ideas, share best practices, and deepen understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing young people today.
Topics will include resilience, wellbeing and confidence for staff and students, self-awareness as a foundation for growth, and the importance of inclusive school and workplace environments. We’ll also explore strategies for improving retention, whether that’s supporting teachers or helping apprentices stay the course, and examine how leadership and culture, both at Outward Bound and in your own setting, can inspire lasting impact.
Stay tuned as we announce our line-up of guest speakers in the lead-up to the event, bringing fresh perspectives and real-world insights to inspire your practice and spark new ideas.

Good for your wellbeing too.
