MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE WAS COMMUNICATING WITH OTHERS, ESPECIALLY PEOPLE I DIDN’T KNOW…
Aged 11, Alex used to dread any kind of social situation, especially when he knew he would have to talk to people he hadn’t met before. In his first few weeks at secondary school, Alex went on a five-day Outward Bound course.
I overcame my worries by getting to know staff more and the people around me. The staff were really nice and calm towards us. I felt safe with people and ON THE LAST DAY I FELT LIKE I COULD TALK TO ANYBODY.
