Life is limited

Imagine. A life where you can’t hug your extended family, browse round the shops or meet two friends for a walk. It sounds pretty rubbish. And it is.

Life is limited right now.

Imagine. A life without much variation. You’re tired and a bit fed up. Does anyone know when this will end? You feel like kicking out and just being free.

But you don't rebel.

I think it's safe to say, most people have had moments of feeling like this in 2021. And even though it might be tempting, you don't give in. But why not? The answer is simple.

You have the skills you need.

Throughout your life you’ve learnt the skills you need to get through this pandemic. How to manage your emotions, understand risk, look to the future and know it won’t always be like this. Know that whilst you can’t control it all, what is in your control you can make the best of.

Imagine. A life where you didn't have these skills. You’d never had the chance to develop these behaviours. Life wouldn't just be limited right now, it would be unfathomable.

Young people need these skills too.

And that’s exactly why Outward Bound is needed more than ever. Because young people learn these skills and more on our programmes. Building wellbeing. Developing resilience. Discovering self-belief. Life skills that no pandemic, lockdown or government restrictions can take away from them.

Book an adventure

Do you know a young person who would benefit from an Outward Bound learning adventure? Take a look at our dates for 2021.

Support a young person

If you would like to help a young person develop essential life skills, please make a charitable donation. A gift of £40 will enable a young person to attend an Adventure Day at one of our centres in 2021.
