Eskdale Outward Bound January 1985

I attended Eskdale Outward Bound Mountain School in January 1985 as part of my years training course at Bircham Newton. The three weeks spent there really have gone on to shape my life. Ever since I've been a committed rock climber, mountaineer and paddler and have travelled extensively around the world undertaking these activities.
My best memories of Eskdale were the ropes course, the "Wall" and the "Death" slide, all of which have now gone unfortunately.
The early morning run and swim were bracing affairs, only interrupted when the tarn froze over and then we did a stretcher run (loaded with rocks) around the forest (my kids don't believe me!)
Regrettably I don't have any photos of my time there so if anyone has any from around 1985 or there are any Bircham Boys that read this and have any I'd love to see them.
Our end of course concert included a version of the Animals hit The House of the Rising Sun however ours started:

There is a house in Eskdale Green they call the Outward Bound
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy"""

How wrong I was!
