David Wareing - Aberdovey, Wales, 1950
Arrived Aberdovey August 27th 1950. Allocated to Sail Training Ship "Garibaldi" tied alongside Aberdovey Pier.
In retrospect I enjoyed a three day trip in "Warspite" to Abersoch and return in vile weather. During subsequent service in the Merchant Navy in bad weather I would look back on the Warspite incident and thank God for that experience which prepared me for the future. David Wareing, Master Mariner.
