Ann Cruickshank - Aberdovey, Wales, 1967
I attended Outward Bound school when I was 18 years old, 43 years ago.
It was a life changing experience for me. Not just the fact I very nearly drowned but you also learnt a lot about yourself. You also learnt about teamwork and whether you were a leader or a follower.
Learning these things helped me throughout my life, which has been fulfilling and happy.
I am now close to retirement but look back on those days with fondness and wish I was even half as fit now as I was then.
