Annington Challenge Application Process

2. Complete the application together

We suggest both the parent and child inputs into the application. The more we know about why you want to do the challenge, the better!

Your child needs to be the correct age at the start of the course date you choose and young people should be prepared to attend courses on their own, or with perhaps one other friend, if places allow.

Don't forget, the deadline for applications is 9 February 2024.

3. pick your centre

You can take part in your adventure at Aberdovey or Ogwen Cottage in Snowdonia, Loch Eil in the Highlands and Ullswater or Howtown in the Lake District.

For successful applicants, Outward Bound offers transport to the centres from several locations and the cost of this is included in the funding.

However, you will be responsible for your own transport arrangements and costs to and from these hubs, or to the centres if you choose to travel direct.

4. Choose your course

Level of adventure: Basecamp

Course fee: £575
Contribution required: £85 (Annington will pay the rest)

Level of adventure: Ridge

Course fee: £785
Contribution required: £89 (Annington will pay the rest)

Level of adventure: Summit

Course fee: £1,535
Contribution required: £250 (Annington will pay the rest)

Level of adventure: Pinnacle

Course fee: £2,050
Contribution required: £379 (Annington will pay the rest)

4. Keep an eye on your inbox

If successful, you will be notified by email from The Outward Bound Trust in March. The email will come from enquiries@outwardbound.org.uk so do check your inbox and junk inbox, and add this to your safe sender's list.

You will need to be able to confirm your place and pay at this point. If you are unable to, your place will be offered to someone else.
