It’s not just the Chancellor doing the sums.

Schools and employers are under pressure. Half of leaders say they’re cutting residentials and training, the highest level on record. At the same time, UK businesses have reduced their training budgets by £6 billion since 2022.

While everyone talks about the big numbers, there’s a budget that really matters – the one you manage day to day. When budgets tighten, residential programmes are often the first to go.

But that’s where young people find confidence, resilience and a sense of what they’re capable of.

Have you budgeted for the growth of young people?

Return on your investment

We know young people are worth investing in at times like this. Independent analysis shows £9 of social value is created for every £1 invested in Outward Bound.

This is through better wellbeing, engagement, attainment and employability.

In a tight year, there aren’t many budget lines that can honestly say that.
