A legacy shaped by women
In 1951, Outward Bound ran its first adventure course for young women at Eskdale.
75 years on, thousands more have followed. Different generations, same spark: stepping outside their comfort zones, learning what they’re capable of, and taking those lessons with them for life.
Now it’s time to open the door for the next generation.
Outward Bound helps more girls access the opportunities they deserve — time in nature, time away from pressure, time to grow.
With your support, we’ll reach 10,000 girls by 2027. You’ll be part of something lasting. And you’ll help her take that first bold step.

Creating Role Models
When young people see women leading in the outdoors, it changes what they believe is possible.
Supported by Berghaus, our Women's Outdoor Instructor Development Programme helps to make that happen - by breaking down barriers to outdoor instructing roles and closing the gender gap in our industry.
Invest in a girl's future
By donating, you're giving young women and girls the chance to discover the wild and experience their own adventure.
