This summer, we’re inviting children of active UK military families to embark on life-changing adventures designed to build confidence, resilience, and friendships.

Which course is right for you?

Our summer adventures are designed for different ages and levels of experience, from first-time adventurers to those ready for a bigger challenge.

Unsure of which course level?

We have four levels of adventures: Basecamp, Ridge, Summit and Pinnacle. These cover a range of difficulty levels and ages.

What families say

Families often share how their children return from their Outward Bound adventures transformed—feeling more resilient, confident, and ready to take on whatever comes next. Hear from a past participant:

I had such an awesome time the last time I went to Wales. I made friends, had crazy adventures and it has helped me a lot when moving school recently to be a bit stronger than I was before. I'd love the opportunity to do an Outward Bound course again.

Make friends from around the world

Many young people arrive not knowing anyone. They leave with friends they’ve climbed mountains and friendships that often last long after summer ends.

On course, young people:

  • live and explore in a small group with others their own age
  • share challenges, successes and a lot of laughter
  • support each other when things feel tough or new.

It’s an easy place to belong, especially for those who might be shy at home.
