Ullswater development on schedule for summer finish

Development1Exciting new changes are stirring at our Lake District Ullswater Centre, as we catch up with facilities manager Bex Duffill to get the latest news on our redevelopment!

"It's looking pretty incredible at the moment and we're aiming for completion this summer," explains Bex.

"The development includes a new purpose built accommodation block, workshop and equipment stores, together with 10 learning and review rooms located throughout the woods. There will also be an environmentally friendly biomass boiler, supplying the majority of our heating and hot water.

Some areas of the development are complete and are already in use. The learning and review rooms, nicknamed 'pods' are amazing and very popular with clients. Each are assigned to individual groups for the duration of their course. Heated and well insulated, they are a perfect environment for encouraging learning and development.

Being part of this project has been very exciting, especially now I can see it all coming together. Our instructional staff do such a great job ensuring that participants get out and have life-changing adventures, now we’ll also have the incredible new facilities to help support their journey with us.

It will be fantastic to see everyone working in the new buildings."

As the centre is currently running at maximum capacity, the new development will help make the facilities at Ullswater more efficient.  Ergonomically designed, the upgrades will make a greater impact to the young people visiting.
