Applications to Scotland's Next Generation 2019 programme are now open!
Supporting Scotland’s young people to build their personal, social and employability skills has never been more important. That’s why, as part of our Scotland’s Next Generation campaign, The Outward Bound Trust are offering disadvantaged young people the chance to take part in the 19-day Skills for Life Award at Loch Eil in the Highlands.

Nominate a young person
All four of the following criteria must be applicable to the nominees:
They must be:
- otherwise unable to access such a programme because of financial reasons
- have the stickability to take part in a physically and mentally challenging 19 day Award
- a young person who is not yet fulfilling their potential
- in their S5 year at time of nomination
Participants should be prepared to commit to 19 days in July or August and a preparation day in March/April 2019. After the Award they must write a thank you letter to their sponsor.
The Skills for Life Award is worth £1,699 and for those lucky enough to be awarded a SNG place £1,649 of this is funded by a group of donors, individuals and companies, who want to support young people who have the potential to go far in life, but do not have the opportunities to find out what they are truly capable of achieving. Those taking part need only pay a £50 non-refundable deposit with travel from Glasgow to Loch Eil also included in the price.
