You'll also pack in waterfall traverses and abseils as part of a gorge scrambling day and spend a night or two under canvas following a high energy mountain expedition. Best of all, you’ll come away with an impressive new set of outdoor and personal skills, take home fantastic memories and gain a whole new group of friends to continue your climbing adventures!

Is Serious Adventure - Rock for me?
You don’t have to be super fit to take part in Serious Adventure - Rock, but the days are packed with activity and will be physically challenging. You should also be prepared to carry your rucksack on overnight expedition. You don’t need to have any climbing experience to take part, however the adventure is also suitable to those who have had some previous exposure to climbing. Therefore, just an average level of fitness and plenty of enthusiasm and determination to take on new challenges is all that is needed. You should also be open to new experiences and able to get along with other young people from a variety of backgrounds.
What will I get out of it?
Besides some pretty impressive climbing skills, you’ll also learn about leadership, working in a team and communication - the sort of stuff that looks great on a CV or college application. You’ll meet people from all over the world to continue your climbing adventures with! Best of all, you’ll have a fantastic sense of achievement, having conquered a brand new challenge.
What about smoking?
Participants under 16 are not permitted to smoke. We strongly discourage smoking. If you must smoke, your instructor will show you a designated smoking area. Smoking is not permitted on activities or on expedition. In addition consumption of alcohol is banned at all centres.
What weather can we expect?
Although the course takes place in summer, it is based predominantly in mountainous areas where weather can be unpredictable. At times a sense of humour will be required!
What are the centres like?
You'll be staying in single sex dorms with 6-10 people of your own age. Most dorms also have en-suite facilities. For more venue information and photographs of our centres, visit the locations section of our website.
