Our early careers development team

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity providing adventure-based, outdoor learning for young people. Part of our work is with young people at the start of their careers and our Early Careers Development (ECD) team are responsible for getting corporate clients and training providers to bring their apprentices, graduates and early leaders to Outward Bound. Over 4,000 apprentices, graduates and early leaders working for some of the UK’s best known companies come to Outward Bound as part of their personal development every year. They leave our programmes knowing that there is more in them than they think and that they’re prepared for the next stage of their career.

We need an account manager to support our existing client relationship managers to manage and grow our portfolio of clients – helping us to work with more young people every year. You need an understanding of the apprentice and graduate development marketplace, and ideally have some commercial sales experience and a passion for outdoor education learning and development. You will have a focus on developing new business in Scotland and will be given professional development to help you with this part of your role.

Your boss will be the Head of Early Career Development and you’ll work closely with the ECD client relationship managers. You’ll be responsible for; account management, client retention, extension sales across the UK and new business development in Scotland, meeting revenue targets. You will have to travel to meet clients and to visit our six centres and offices (pool cars for travel are available).

Basic starting salary £22 - £28K per year (dependent on relevant experience) for a 37.5 hour week.
