Reminiscing together - 24 hrs at Outward Bound

Over the course of 24 hours, 24 Eskdale and Aberdovey Alumni retraced footsteps to where their life-affirming, perhaps life-altering, Outward Bound courses had taken place. The journey to the West Lakes and the Welsh coast was filled with quick-to-be-dispersed trepidation and turned to nostalgia; a new sense of belonging and community with others who share a common experience.

Thanks to the sterling efforts of Ed McCann, a former instructor at Moray Sea School and the generosity of former staff, students, family members and local companies, we successfully raised the £3,000 needed for a commemorative plaque and two information boards.

75th celebration at the RGS

December 2016 over 250 alumni joined us to celebrate 75 years of The Outward Bound Trust. The event was held at the Royal Geographical Society in London and was hosted by Nick Barrett, The Trust's CEO. Sir Chris Bonington, Deputy Patron of The Trust gave a keynote address.
