In this Olympic year are you ready to join Team GB for Outward Bound?
This is your chance to ride with our partners, the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association, down one of the fastest tracks in the world, Innsbruck in Austria, twice the host venue of the Winter Olympics.
Here's what awaits you in Innsbruck... are you ready for our adrenalin packed adventure?
The Bobsleigh Challenge will take place from Thursday 24th - Saturday 26th November 2016. Four star accommodation and all meals will be provided for your two night stay.
Thursday 24 November
Arrive at Innsbruck and check in to the hotel. Your first night will give you a chance to meet your fellow ‘Bobbers’ plus the GB athletes who will be guiding you through the challenge.
Friday 25 November
Join Team GB trackside to watch the British Skeleton Championships from 8-10am to see which athletes will claim the national titles.
You'll then be met by GB bobsledders, who’ll take you through a track walk and get you ready for a truly unique thrill that you’re sure to never forget. Experience the ride of your life as you fly down the Olympic track in a 4-man bobsleigh, hitting speeds of up to 75 mph and feeling up to 5g of force. You’ll be piloted by a British Olympic driver and pushed off by a GB brakeman and they have every intention of making your bobsleigh experience as realistic as possible by going as fast they can around each of the 14 corners.
Once you’ve experienced the Formula One of winter sports first-hand, you’ll watch the professionals as the British Bobsleigh Championships take place on the very same track that you will have just ridden moments earlier. There will then be another opportunity for you to return to the ice for a final thrill before heading back to the hotel for a celebratory night of ‘après bob’.
Saturday 26 November
Depart at your leisure.
We are aiming to raise £750k towards Outward Bound’s 75th Anniversary Appeal, which crucially sets out to add another centre to our current stock and additional bursary to fill it.
We are inviting minimum 'bids' of £25k and more to do the challenge. Of course, the higher the better and we have already received a couple of bids of £75k in support of our 75th Anniversary.
And if you would like to donate not to do the challenge (this of course is not for everyone!) that would be most acceptable. If everyone were to get behind this event, we could smash our £750k target and help as many young people as possible to undertake their own character defining challenges. Please do get in touch directly or simply donate here.
