Alan Brenton, General Manager

Alan left school in 1976 with no qualifications and unrealistic expectations. After 5 years of grim factory work he returned to education to retrain. On graduating, he gained valuable hands on experience as a Senior Instructor at a Lake District centre working with young people whilst having some centre management responsibilities. He then applied these skills to the challenge of working with young people with severe behavioural difficulties and then managing homeless men’s hostels. Following a career evaluation, Alan changed direction to pursue a developmental role with mainstream adults. Beginning as a lecturer at a college in West Cumbria he was soon promoted to Head of Faculty where his priority was to align learning outcomes to meet the up-to-the-minute needs of business.

In 2002, Alan joined Outward Bound Professional where he is responsible for our strategic business development. He strives to achieve consistently high quality service delivery to meet the needs of our clients in a competitive evolving market, through focussed development of core business competences.
