Eskdale, The Lake District

Gate House from across the tarn
Gate House – the home of Outward Bound® Professional

Built in 1896 as a country retreat, Gate House is set in 60 acres of woodland with its own tarn and views over the central Lakeland fells. The house is a haven of peace and tranquillity that adds real value to clients’ training programmes.

Private grounds provide walkways to the Japanese garden with its cascading pools, stunning azaleas and rhododendrons. There is easy access onto the fells, with low level walks into neighbouring valleys as well as beautiful lakes all in close proximity. The circular walk of the tarn gives wonderful views of the house itself.
